From the editor in chief: “Through The Looking Glass • An Ode To Alice And Wonderment”

Darlings … Where does one begin when there is simply too much to feel?

This issue isn’t just a publication … It’s a portal.

A glimmering prism of madness, beauty, and relentless reinvention.

Candice Solomon Editor In Chief Faddy Magazine USA

Spring/Summer 2025 was never going to be about hemlines and handbags, not in this house, darling. It was always going to be about liberation, wonder, and the sacred act of creating when the world wants you quiet.

I had only one story on my mind when this began:

Alice. The original fashion fantasist.
The girl who fell, on purpose.
But this Alice doesn’t sip tea in lace gloves.
She kicks doors in satin platforms.

She descends the rabbit hole in full look, full beat, and full control.

And yes, I too have fallen. Darlings, the last few years have been a gilded freefall.

But like Alice, I found my own wonderland long ago, in a place called The Windward Hotel in MImai.

It was my first gay bar. My first cathedral of chaos. There were queens in gowns, bodies in the pool, music everywhere.

It wasn’t a party. It was church.

And when the queens looked at mem my crooked nose, my Barbra face, my hungry soul—and they said, “You mop, baby!

Darling. That was my anointing.
That was my crown.
That was the moment I understood:
I wasn’t meant to fit in, I was born to stand out.

Since that day, I have never left the side of my LGBTQ+ family.

They gave me color. They gave me fight. They gave me sequins and salvation.

And I have given them my everything.
So yes, this issue is an ode to fantasy.
But more than that, it is a love letter to freedom.

To Pride!
To the misfits and magical ones who
refuse to live in a box.
To the flower and fancy queens.
To the gay men in women’s bodies
(hello, darling—it’s me).

To the straight boys with queer hearts who still wear eyeliner in the
mirror when no one is watching.

 To Us!

Let me now sing the names of the divine creatives who’ve turned this issue into a dream within a dream:

Sébastien Le Turk    our cover conjurer, our visual surrealist, our High Duke of Dreamscapes. His worlds are not photographed, darling—they are built from glitter, glue guns, and genius. Sébastien doesn’t shoot fashion, he stages fantasy.

Erez Sabag – our back cover angel, a true friend of the house, and a patron saint of light and loyalty. Erez, you are not just a photographer, you are a portraitist of the soul. Thank you for standing with us, always.

Romero Jennings – the beauty oracle, the face whisperer, the one who shows us what transformation really means. Two stories, infinite fantasy. Romero, when you paint—it’s revelation.

Randy Smith – our Queen of Hearts, a stylist so divine, he doesn’t dress people, he elevates them to iconography. Randy, you are royalty. Welcome to the court of Faddy.

Frederick Valentín – our anointed prince, sensualist, artist, and lens-wielding romantic. Your eye is heat and heart. You don’t capture beauty, Frederick, you reveal it.

Patrick Walter – our North Star of refinement and direction, a master of silent orchestration. Behind every polished moment is your eye, your elegance, your extraordinary taste. You don’t stand behind the curtain, darling, you designed the whole theater.

Edgar Tescum – our mirror-maker, our seeker of shadow, soul, and sublime. His images are whispered confessions, quiet storms of longing and light. Edgar doesn’t take photos, he translates feeling into frame.

Nick D’Orazio – our prince of precision, heir to legacy, sculptor of new iconography. With lightning in his lens and lineage in his blood, every frame becomes scripture. Nick doesn’t follow footsteps, he draws his own silhouette.

Eliana Orly Rubin – our dream weaver, our moonlit mystic of softness and strength. She doesn’t photograph the visible, she reveals the invisible. Eliana is not capturing beauty, she’s conjuring spellwork with a shutter.

Weic Lin – our maestro of the surreal, born of hair, color, craft, and chaos. Every frame he makes is lacquered with longing and edged with intimacy. Weic doesn’t follow the rules, he exhales reinvention.

And to every creative spirit from Taipei to the Bronx, from fresh-faced dreamers to legends with lacquered luggage:

You are the lifeblood of this issue. You are Faddy. And once you are Faddy… you are Faddy forever.

This issue is called:

“Through the Looking Glass”
But really, darling it is a mirror of
who we’ve become.

Of what we refuse to apologize for.

Of how dazzling the world can be when you
dare to see it differently.

Wake up each day and create like your
life depends on it.

Because it does.

With florals, fire, a feather fan, and full conviction,
